Blue Water Donates $50k to Ducks Unlimited Conservation Efforts in Virginia

Blue Water donates to Ducks Unlimited

It is immensely important to Blue Water that we support the beautiful ecosystems of Virginia’s Eastern Shore. With waterfront properties in Chincoteague and Cape Charles, it is paramount to us that the wetlands surrounding these properties be conserved for those who live in and visit the Eastern Shore of Virginia for years to come through concentrated sustainability efforts. We are thrilled to be able to support Ducks Unlimited in its mission to conserve habitats for North America’s waterfowl. Virginia is an important part of the Atlantic Flyway, providing migration and winter habitats for waterfowl, including American black ducks, mallards, canvasbacks, and Canada geese.

Through conservation programs in Virginia, Ducks Unlimited has restored and enhanced more than 48,000 acres of wetlands. These programs exist to maximize the quality of migration and wintering waterfowl habitat and improve conditions for waterfowl production. The benefits of these programs have a ripple effect for the ecosystems in which they are implemented, restoring grasslands, replanting forests, restoring watersheds, and so much more. Ducks Unlimited uses constant monitoring and evaluation to establish continual refinement of its habitat programs and maximize the use of funding.

Blue Water is committed to sustainable action in every aspect of our business, from outdoor hospitality management to real estate development and asset management. And we proudly support wonderful organizations like Ducks Unlimited, who are doing their part to care for and protect the natural beauty of the land we proudly call home.
