Blue Water has been an ardent supporter of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office and the important work they do to protect and uplift our local community. We have hosted several conferences for the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office at our properties and provided funding for many of their essential programs. Blue Water has also heavily supported the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 units by allowing them to train at The Commander Hotel in Ocean City, and at Todd’s personal residence. The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office presented Todd with an award for his unyielding support of their K-9 unit program.
K-9 units offer essential policing support and assist with tasks requiring canine scent detection, tracking and criminal apprehensions. Responsibilities such as detection, apprehensions, and assistance with searches can be completed much more effectively with the use of a K-9 unit. These dogs, and their officers, go through months of rigorous training to ensure that they can complete certifications in all disciplines including obedience to interact safely with the public. Having access to an open area to train is essential for these programs so that the dogs can practice skills that will help them perform more effectively in the field.
“We are honored to have the support of the Blue Water Group. They are true community ambassadors. The collaborative support that we have received from them over the years is greatly appreciated,” said Matthew Crisafulli, Sheriff of Worcester County Sheriff’s Office. “This type of support helps my office to accomplish the mission of keeping Worcester County the best county in our state. We are a safe and thriving county because of the support of our businesses like Blue Water.”
The Worcester County Sherriff’s Office has been serving the area since the creation of the county itself. Since then, it has served as a full-service enforcement agency that maintains 24 hour patrol coverage for the county. The Sheriff’s Office also offers a variety of services for the community, including handgun qualification licensing, a public firing range, educational programs for children and support programs for children and families in need, and their very own K-9 unit. The K-9 unit serves as an integral part in keeping the community of Worcester County safe.
“The health and safety of our neighbors, friends, family, and guests in our local community is our top priority. Blue Water proudly supports all first responders and the lifesaving work they are doing in our hometown,” said Todd Burbage, CEO of Blue Water.
